I was in the market for an ice cream and gelato maker, but didn’t like the idea of having to freeze ingredients in advance. However, after some research, it seemed difficult to find a versatile machine that could make so many things, had a compressor to freeze, and was at a price point I would want to pay. After seeing so many people rave about the CREAMi, and with the availability of so many online recipes, I decided to purchase it. I have so far been happy with it. It’s a very clever machine and the variety of items I’ve experimented with have all been successful. It seems to me that pretty much anything you freeze will create an enjoyable frozen treat. I love the variety of settings that this thing has, and don’t think there’s another product as versatile. People do talk about how loud it is, but it’s not really that bad. It is not as loud as a blender, so I don’t mind it.

Worked great for a few months but due to a defective shaft the company is aware of, the maching cannot be used. I married a 2oman from Brazil and gave it to her as a gift. The company refuses to warranty it because it left the country. It doesn’t matter in my mind where the unit is located physically, if the defect is in the craftmanship of the product it should be warrantied.

Honestly, it works great. It is VERY loud. This does not bother me, but just something to mention. The blades are very sharp. To make the ice cream, you have to pretty much make it the day before (milk and whatever flavoring you want) and blend it the next day. You cannot make it all at once, so there is a process of freezing it first then blending to get ice cream. For me I mix: Milk, Jello flavoring (Cheesecake or Oreo are so good), Guar gum/Xanthum gum (my ice cream would never turn out thick, this makes it perfect), and a pinch of salt. This is just the base, you can add anything else. Overall it is so nice to make your own ice cream and if you have kids this is a great way you can even make your ice cream healthier or less expensive.

I was really skeptical of what this thing actually did. It doesnt make “real” ice cream, but it does turn any ice cream you want into a soft serve DQ blizzard kinda thing. You can also feeeze a biklion different things and make smoothies and such. Freezing hot chocolate is probably the best thing I’ve ever had. If you’re not sure about it, get it and try it out. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
