Returns

I was looking for a replacement coffeemaker for a Gavalia model that was on its last “drips,” and I found this Hamilton Beach model on sale at Best Buy. For the cost of a couple pounds of good whole bean coffee, I got myself a nice coffeemaker with a basket for #4 cone filters. I have been pleased with the ease of brewing and cleaning, and would recommend this model, especially in comparison to more costly models that might give you more bells and whistles but not a better cup of coffee.

No programming, no clock, just an on /off button on the side of unit.

There are no timers on this unit. There is only a heating element to keep the carafe hot. As a result, you can’t program the pot to brew your coffee before you get up in the morning and if you forget to turn it off when you go to bed with some coffee in the pot you will have a scorched mess in the morning.

HB screwed up the brewing head, and they refuse to fix it. If you fill the basket half full or more with coffee, you’ll find grounds in your coffee. The water comes out with such force that it splashes the coffee grounds over the filter. Had an old model that died. Wish I had kept the Brew head. I have reported this to HB. No planned resolution.

I sorted Best Buy coffee makers for a permanent filter and chose this one. All Hamilton Beach documentation agrees, it’s permanent. I must define the word differently. This coffee maker still requires a paper filter. A permanent filter is reusable and should be able to go into the dishwasher. I bought it … didn’t get further than the in-box paperwork to discover I needed #4 cone filters. Returned it. Another brand, calling their filter “reusable” is what I ended up with.

I really like this simple well designed coffee maker. Recommend no more than 9 cups at a time as it can cause the grinds to go over the top of the filter if you make 12 cups. It makes a superior cup of coffee; I like that it takes time to drip through the cone shape filter.

Good basic coffeemaker. Had a Braun coffeemaker for years, loved it. Tried a Bella after that, disappointed. The plastic cracked and the carafe was so thin, was afraid even washing it
that it would break. Tried this basic Hamilton Beach coffeemaker, as I do not need auto cleaning, special filtering, time brewing, etc…, and it is great. The coffee taste great, the carafe is really durable, and it uses the cone filters that I prefer. If you are looking for a good basic coffeemaker that does not cost a fortune, this is it.

This is a nice, simple coffee maker. No programming, no clock, doesn’t turn off automatically. Just makes pretty good coffee. The only tiny thing is that the #4 cone filters are a little too wide, so I just fold it slightly to fit – no big deal. For the money, you can’t beat this one – this is our second one. The first one lasted at least 5 years of daily coffee making.

Not the best Coffee Maker I ever had. Basically it doesn’t have its own filter, one must remember to buy paper filters. And it does not switch off on its own so it is a fire hazard in case You forget switch it off every night and disconnect the power. Other than that it makes nice coffee for large family portions.

Very first description says coffee filter basket. There is no coffee filter basket. Great price, great service picking up, easy return, easy refund. But description of product is grossly inaccurate. I don’t want to drink wet paper from paper coffee filters. I don’t want to produce the unnecessary waste. It’s just a basket with a hole in the bottom for a paper filter.
